Thanks rrr,

That is the latest version that went out. There is an issue selector (looks like a calendar) that allows you to browse between past newsletters but there is a bug with it right now that I am working on (its blank unless your in FF).

Ramses 04-29-2007 11:24 AM

Are some screenshots available how the newsletter is looking? Thanks.

Thanks, TG.

I'm using firefox and I guess when I look at that page, I wasn't sure what the calendar was supposed to do (trying to put myself in the place of a new user :))

Thanks for the input, I will most likely be going the listing route because (IMO) select boxes look messy (hence why I hid them) :)

Ramses 05-05-2007 02:08 PM

Thanks, but there are only screens from the admin side, I meant how the receiver will see the newsletter.

you should have got sent a test newsletter to your email, if you didnt, make sure you have thegeek in your allowed list, and check your junk/spam folder.

ruhrpottforum 05-17-2007 06:01 PM

Hello,

I like to see such a great Newslettersystem :)

We would like to send a monthly newsletter (html/plaintext) but not neccessarly with the full featured forum style but with a nice header and a nice formated (html)text. Images, Links, Bold, Italic, Centered, ... maybe with an bbcode interface for creating?

And a "must-have" feature would be an "unsubscribe" link in every email that is sent out

is this possible with GAZ?

cheers

The Geek 05-17-2007 06:03 PM

Sure. You can tweak the templates as you see fit and make it a monthly newsletter.

All users have the ability to opt out of newsletters :)

ruhrpottforum 05-17-2007 06:05 PM

Wow, you are a bot, aren't you? :)

Is their or will their be a translation to german? Maybe I could help you out with this?

The Geek 05-17-2007 06:08 PM

Its fully phrased so I assume so. Saying that, I wont be doing it as my German is as bad as my Italian (which is non existent).

No bot, just lurking heavily as I do around any new launch :)

ruhrpottforum 05-17-2007 06:26 PM

Just bought it. will try it at the weekend, I hope I get it working with vBSEOs CRR.

The Geek 06-07-2007 05:05 PM

There are just a couple of minor issues I am resolving first. I would have it out by now, but I am away on business so my dev time is really cramped :)

The Geek 06-09-2007 10:36 PM

Hello Morgan,

is there going to be a new release of this any time soon? I think it would be a great investment for my community.

WhatChaMissin 02-17-2008 10:47 PM

I have to agree, it looks like it would be a great tool.

Cannot provide a time frame, but both GAZ and GMart with be released when ready.

optrex 03-04-2008 09:26 PM

Where do I download the current version?

Morgan 03-05-2008 03:02 PM

Drop down menu in navbar -> License and Download Manager

optrex 03-05-2008 09:19 PM

That only gives me an offering of GABS, GARS and GAL. I don't see an option for GAZ

I currently have GARS purchased, I know you are looking to update GAZ, but I'm in desperate need of a newsletter, so wouldn't object to purchasing the current version.

bump please - in desperate need of a GAZ version

Morgan 03-07-2008 04:34 AM

Sorry, but no pre-sales are offered. The old code contains bugs, and the new code is not yet ready.

acers 05-03-2008 09:27 AM

Hey Morgan,
While i can understand you cannot give ETA's but is the update for GAZ on the table. A lot of us depend on GAZ for newsletters and it forms an integral part of the community. Now with the release of 3.7x, we have just been told that old versions will not be updated and we can basically fix the code or any bugs ourselves. (And a new release, whenever that comes out, might just take as much time by which our license would have expired)
I think integral to the license was support especially for major software releases and fixing present bugs(permissions problems that i have had to change files myself to sort out) and just ignoring licensed customers is a bit unacceptable.
(Sorry i don't mean to be rude, i can understand the time and effort it would take but its been a very long time since we heard anything regarding gaz. Its a paid product afterall)

Morgan 05-03-2008 02:39 PM

Yes, both GAZ and GMart will be released as soon as they are ready. The GAZ v.1.0.0 code base is now different than my working code base, and when the new release of GAZ is made, it will contain the changes for CSRF protection. As to expired licenses, I do understand that license holders anticipated further releases by The Geek and are disappointed that they did not materialize. I also understand that people are eager for the new releases, but it does take time. If I could have split myself into five, all five of the geek scripts would already be available and supported, but as it is, they get learned, fixed, released, and supported one at a time. In the last four months, three of the five geek scripts have been updated and released, and I hope to get all five geek scripts back online soon.

acers 05-03-2008 03:21 PM

^^ Thanks morgon :)
I look forward to it and i do appreciate your efforts also ;)
