I have been trying the ignore thread and just adding in the thread number in the ignore field, but that isn't working.
Is that how it should be used?

Via the ACP ->
GAL
-> Display -> click a keyword -> 'Ignore threadid' where threadid is a number should work for threads. For the thread you are currently reading, 3624 was entered for the GARS keyword, and GARS isn't linked.
