Customizing Header Images & Synopsis text??
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a sort of "review preview" on the front page of my website: http://www.pcshoptalk.com/ I'm using this unofficial plugin for the front page: http://www.thevbgeek.com/showthread.php?t=1439 What I want to accomplish is a 100x100 header image followed by the "synopsis" text. I have a few questions: 1) When I go to header image and then upload an image, it then shows up subsequently as a selectable option whenever I create a new review. Since these header images will be new for each new review, I can see this becoming a bit of a problem once there are 100 or so reviews. Is there a way to have this header image be an image linked from an outside directory unrelated to gars? Will I have to do this via a custom field? 2) How do I get the synopsis text to show up on the front page only (the "latest reviews" snippet) and not inside the actual review? 3) Would it be easier to accomplish #1 and #2 via a custom field or two? TIA! EDIT: I'm trying to accomplish what's shown here under the "features" section at the top: http://www.tweak3d.net Last edited by mikhailtech; 01-20-2009 at 12:51 AM.. |

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with vBa CMPS or that module, so the only thing I can suggest is to either tweak the module to get it to do what you want or to write a new module, but from a cursory review, it looks like the module might already do what you want given the configurable variables in the PHP file that you can change.

I'll see what I can do.
I have another problem though - my Synopsis won't show up. At all. My byline shows up, but synopsis doesn't. I have it enabled everywhere it should be. Is there something that would keep a synopsis from displaying? |

Not sure but try checking the ACP -> GARS -> Settings -> Maximum character count for displaying synopsis in forumdisplay and also the ACP -> GARS -> Types -> click the type -> Display preview/synopsis in threadbit.
