![]() Why don't we have an addition option that pull threads only from its parent's forum? It's simple, but I think it's quite useful and make GARS more relavant to others CMS script.
Tks for paying attention to my suggestion! |

![]() You can select which forums to pull from. BTW: You are currently showing up as unlicensed?

![]() You may not understand totally what I mention about. Selecting threads from specific forums is static method (cannot automatically changes), while selecting threads from the same type forums is more useful for CMS portal. But there are lots of forum having the same type, so what happen if I want to pull threads ONLY from the parent category of this active thread.
I registered from version 1.0, but I lost information. I'm trying to remember which email used for purchasing the script before. It's such a long time when I come back to use this kind of stuff. Hope to receive your support ASAP, Tks a lot! |

![]() Im not sure what you mean by a static method. You either select which forums you want to pull the data from, or GARS figures out which forums use the same type.

![]() How's about ONLY pull threads from the parent category of the thread I'm viewing? Its forumid value will change among different categories when I surf different thread (but ONLY 1 forumid, not a bunch of forumids from similar forums having the same type).
OMG, it's the 3rd thread I write now and I wish you would give me a tip to make it done. Thanks a million! |

![]() Metal, though I see what you're saying, you can accomplish what you are trying to do by simply selecting the forums that are in the parents forum id. If you have a stucture like this:
Articles -- Sub forum 1 -- Sub forum 2 -- Sub forum 3 And you are saying I want the top module to pull from all of Articles children, simply select those children in the modules settings. |

![]() I have 4 forums like these:
A - Article Type B - Review Type C - Review Type D - Article Type and Ta is a thread from forum A, and Td is a thread from forum D. When I view Ta, Top X Module will pull thread: - From forum A & D if I choose "pull from same type" (Article Type). - Ta if I define Article Type pulll thread from forum A. But when I view Td, the result is: - The same as above situation since A & D all belong to Article Type. - There's no thread from forum D since I ask Article Type only pull thread from forum A as above. My suggestion is a new option that ONLY pull threads from the parent forum of my current thread to Top X Module. In this case: - When I see Ta, Top X Module only pull threads from forum A. - When I see Td, Top X Module only pull threads from forum D. May you help me? |

![]() Thats why you choose the 'Pull only from the forums below' and then specify which forums you want selected. Or....
Just choose 'copy module set' then 'copy type set'. Then set each of these accordingly. |
