VBA CMPS Module / GARS combo question
I posted this over at vbadvanced.com here
I just wanted to see if what I described below here makes sense [And if the modules were created] work? It makes sense to me, and after messing around with GARS for a little while now, it should work right? Does anyone know how to make a module for VBA CMPS that would do this? lol , how about you read below first so you understand what I'm talking about: "Create a module that shows recent threads within a specific forum only and no others? The reason why I ask this seemingly odd question is because of how the GARS system works (thevbgeek.com). What I want to be able to do is this: I will be using GARS (Geek Article Review System) to post custom content / game review pages... and this is done through a specific forum you can set up. So what I want to be able to do is make a module that sees which "Threads" are put into one specific forum I designate. This then will allow me to just show new game reviews etc that have been listed in that specific forum. Is this possible? I'd also like to do this same concept with a searching module, where it only searched for new "threads" within my specific "game review" forum." |

This way I can have a games page where people could simply pick a letter and see which games have reviews for em Last edited by FRAiD; 01-17-2006 at 08:08 AM.. |

I commissioned a coder a couple months ago to do a few vba modules that would allow you to select which forums and which type. What was promised to be a couple days has extended well past an acceptable date so I'm going to see if anyone else is game.
One key challenge is the way vba modules are now... its virtually impossible to use the same module files multiple times Anyway, I'm hoping someone will come to the rescue. I would rather spend my time enhancing the product and completing my others. |

But shouldn't this be easy to do though? Just making a module that displays "recent threads" (which ends up being my game reviews) that are only taken from one specific forum? Heh, I guess I'll just have to dig in and start messing around with settings to do this. I'm aFRAiD I need some help I think.

as mentioend above i think. the news module does just this. Copy that into a new VBA moduel, adjust the templates to display articles better and it should do what you need.

Ok, well actually I found I could do this with the recent threads module as well...
Now I'm onto figuring out how to make custom modules... to display in GARS |
