Default Ratings

Morgan,

Since Project tools is closed I reopened the issue here.. Like I said nothing happens when I try to rate a tutorial. I don't have tick to submit rating ticked or anything of that sort.. check the small video I created to see what I'm reffering to.

I could not upload the video cause it was to big;

Thanks for the video. Let's check something easy first. Is the GARS reviewrate.php file in your main forum directory? If so, is your browser reporting any JavaScript errors?

It seems that the rating while replying to the thread works fine.. but if you try to rate it like shown on the video it doesn't work :/

I didn't want to create a new thread since my experiences are also about ratings. I hope you don't mind, gldtn.

1) Well, if you create a review, enter the ratings (and click the tick box) they'll keep the settings in preview. However, if you are replying to a review, rate it (and click the tick box) in preview the settings do not save; they reset back to "1". Same goes when editing.

This behavior has existed in every version I've tested. I suggest maybe removing the tick since the ratings should keep regardless; it should not reset to "1" unless the person wants it to and can do so manually.

2) The Ajax rating doesn't seem to work. Well, at least here on this site.

Grab the package again and FTP the following two files:
  • /forums/reviewrate.php
  • /forums/geek/gars/clientscript/GARS_ajax_qr.js
Then clear your browser cache, or when you get back to the ratings page, do a hard refresh (e.g., Ctrl-F5) to ensure the JavaScript file is refreshed in the browser.

Gotta love the search tool. I just re-uploaded this and it fixed it for me too.
