More image blocks and image captions

It would be excellent if there was the option of choosing to submit an article with one, two or three images + captions in various locations on the page. For example, an image next to the left of the first paragraph with caption, then another towards the middle of the page to the right of th text with caption, as well as one at the end. It would be even better if there was an option of choosing whether the article has one, two or three images with captions (or without) as well as their location relative to the text. The option of uploading one image next to the article headline seems a bit limiting, but then maybe I have not had a closer look at the modules feature?

This could be done with a custom module though it would be a little bit more of a challenge. I would love to rework vB's attachment system, however that still wouldnt really accomlish what you're after. What you really want is a template layout for the author. That would be a total reworking of the system

How hard this would be? It is not just question of layout? (I have no idea).
It will be real article though with such layout. Now it looks out of the "article layouts" league...
