Question vBGeek on vBull 4

Hi vBgeek Team:

I'm interested in a few of your mods, well most of them, you should make a super mod pack to save some bucks, he, he, but that's other history.

I like to know what plans you have to support the vBull 4.

Thanks!!!

As GARS is an add-on for vBulletin, I would need to see the vB4 code before I can say what needs to be done and how much time it would take, but from the looks of things, GARS might need a total redo of its templates, and possibly other things, as vB4 is going to have a "new front-end style marked-up with semantic XHTML and styled with CSS" (see here for more info). Another feature that is going to be added to vB4 looks to be a "vBulletin Content Management System" (see here for more info) but at this point there is no way for me to say if GARS will work with vB4 (probably not), what would need to be done to get GARS to be vB4 compliant (probably plenty), whether the vBulletin Content Management System makes GARS obsolete (could be possible), etcetera, without first seeing the vB4 code. The same holds true for the other geek scripts.

I want to differ from this comment:

I consider pretty different GARS, from a CMS.
On my site I have vba CMPS, maybe this add on could be affected with the new vBull 4 (because I have the blog and the Project Tool on that license), but the plain forum licenses will not have CMS, so will use third party systems.

I found GARS, pretty similar to vBDynamics, I have it on my forum (multiple instances), but what makes GARS special is the total integration with the forums, make each subforum special, and the best of all vbSEO compatible.

I hope you continue with some of the scripts, I like them and I'm planning to buy them, could be pretty useful to know what script you plan to upgrade.

I'm thinking in get (on that order):
GAB , GAZ , GAL .

But with the vBull 4 on the corner, I don't like to see all the work and licenses invested goes to trash. I feel I was a year late on knowing this site.

Consider this a Pre-sales question.

Best regards!!!

There is no way to know what'll work, what won't, and what may become redundant without having a vB4 release to try things out, but I suspect all the geek mods will break on vB4 unfortunately.

I'll wait, looks like the alpha will be around pretty soon, so some of the doubts will be clear.

Hope to see the Geeks on the 4.0. Thanks and best regards!!!
