user opt in? is there a way to send a link to all members to ask them to subscribe?
Rather than opt all my forum members into a newsletter they may not want, i'd love to be able to send out a one time mass PM to let members know about the newsletter and give them a chance to subscribe.
Is this possible with GAZ? Something like click the following link to subscribe to our newsletter: http://www.thevbgeek.com/newsletter....ubscribe&nid=1 How does the initial "subscribe" option work when you first install GAZ work? |

There is no mass PM option, and vB by default does not have a mass PM option (cite), though there might be a mass PM modification at vBorg where you could send that link to your members with nid=X and X is the ID number of the newsletter. Not sure what you mean with the second question, but after a member clicks the Subscribe link, s/he becomes subscribed to the newsletter, and you as admin can use ACP -> GAZ -> Subscriptions to see who is subscribed.

Thanks for the response morgan.
Yes, I already have the mass pm mod from vb.org installed. I guess I was just asking if there was a one click subscribe that was possible, and there is My second question was asking if GAZ subscribed all members to the newsletter by default when it was installed. Looking at the wiki it seems that each newsletter that is created offers to subscribe everyone as an option at the time of creation: http://www.thevbgeek.com/geeki/index...r_Settings.jpg |

The 'Default to subscription?' option, if set to yes, then new users will be subscribed by default (although they can still choose no as long as they are in a user group that can receive the newsletter). For current users, you could force them to be subscribed by using the ACP -> GAZ -> Subscriptions.
