Default Advert in side column

Is there a mod/way to add a banner like ShoppingAds/Adsence into this software?

Create a template mod and you'll be good to go.

You need to add it to your defined Module Set.

In the ACP -> GARS -> Settings, you assign a type to a forum. Via the ACP -> GARS -> Types -> click a type, you select what options that type should use, including a template set, and via the ACP -> GARS -> Templates -> click a template set, you can specify what templates you want to use for any type using that particular template set, so if you made your own forumdisplay template called GARS_banner then you would enter GARS_banner in the forumdisplay box.

Hi,

I read your post, thanks for the reply.
Slightly confused, all I want to do is add a banner say underneath 'featured articles'.

This way doesn't seem to let me do so.

You could edit the GARS_forumdisplay template, assuming that is the template you are using for the forumdisplay page.

In the GARS_forumdisplay template are variables like the following, where X is 1, 2, 3, or 4:
Code:
$show[GARS_modpositionX]
  • 1: Above threads
  • 2: Left of threads
  • 3: Right of threads
  • 4: Below threads
Look for those variables in the template and add your ad code where you want it to appear.

Similarly, in the GARS_pb template are variables like the following, where X is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6:
Code:
$post[GARS_modpositionX]
  • 1: Above Header
  • 2: Inside Header
  • 3: Below Header
  • 4: Left of content
  • 5: Right of content
  • 6: Below content

Brilliant, got it sorted!

However, how can I make the banner into a border like everything else? (featured articles, threads, top articles) etc..
