Default Links only showing once in GAL

I've read through all the threads in here that even remotely come close to what I'm experiencing, but none of the fixes have worked for me.

When I first input words that I've listed in GALS, they show up in the forum. Once I've looked at them once and left the post, they no longer show up as links of any sort anywhere on the site from that point on - whether I post them again in a new post, new thread or try to read another thread where they show.

The GAL CSS is correctly placed, I've double and tripled checked all settings and they're as they should be, permissions are correct, all files are uploaded (including the ones for using GALS with GARS). I've even deleted and reinputted them. If I input a new word, it follows the same format - showing up once then nothing.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice on two test boards only to get the same issue.

Any help would be eternally appreciated - that doesn't involve all the suggestions already given LOL . If screen shots are needed of my permissions, etc, or if anyone would like to take a look in my testboard cp, I'm more than happy to supply logins.

Thanks in advance.

GALs from quick reply won't initially show, but then after you go somewhere else and come back to the thread, then they should show. Have you checked all the items listed in the troubleshooting section here? What is the HTML source from a webpage for a keyword that is not auto-linking?

All keywords aren't auto-linking I've gone through all the items in troubleshooting and I'm not using quick reply It's when I go elsewhere then come back to the thread is when it's no longer showing up. What is odd (and I've only just noticed) is that if you view a specific post instead of the whole thread, the GAL works. *scratches head*

I can't post the HTML as it takes the thread over the limit, and it's too big to add as an attachment. Is there any particular section that needs to be looked at or do you need the whole page.

Go to the ACP -> GAL -> Settings -> Pages to run GAL and set 'Showthread pages' to yes.

Post an HTML snippet, not the whole HTML for the page, for a keyword that should be auto-linked, or better yet, post a webpage link and the keyword that is to be auto-linked.

Here you go.

The keyword is jesses.

If you look at a single post you'll see GALs working, but if you look in the thread, you'll see it's not (at least once you've viewed it once and then gone back).

I have it set to show in threads and in single posts, all permissions for usergroups are correct, etc etc

Here's hoping you can find what's gone wrong - I'm hoping it's user error and something I've missed because I'm looking too hard!

Not sure, almost seems like a setting. Please PM me admin level ACP access if you want me to take a look.

The setting missed is the following:
  • ACP -> GAL -> Categories -> Default -> Forums (check all or only those you want to show auto-links)
