Default Link Directory

GARS 2.1.8m users see http://www.thevbgeek.com/showthread.php?t=3756

Make sure that after you import the package that you edit the snap module in your showthread AND forumdisplay page to make sure the new custom field is assigned correctly.

Also, edit the new Link Directory Type after the import to upload the default header image included with the zip.

Ill write some more copy here when I get a second.

Here are some URL settings that users have submitted for the snap module:It is also worth checking out Girafa.com

EDIT 22/5/07:

This package has been updated to work with GARS 2.1.8. In order for the images to upload, your URL to images folder (admincp->gars->settings) MUST BE the complete, full, URL (not relative). Otherwise the images will not upload.

HTHs!

Did you import it into GARS or try to use it as a product? It should be imported via the GARS importer.
What version of vB are you on?

I am really becoming very confused. When setting up the snap module I understand that I have to insert the URL of the thumbnail service MINUS the bit I am supposed to add (i.e. the URL I want a thumb of)
Well, the thumbshots URL to retrieve thumbs is
Code:
http://open.thumbshots.org/image.pxf?url=[LINK]
Where the [LINK] is the bit I omit in the snap module.
I have tried and tried and still get no image.
Please, please does anyone have any suggestions......

Right then. Fiddled some more and at least it's trying to get an image, but safe-mode is on on my server (not by choice, I can assure you) so all I get now is
Code:
   1. Got some freaky error while moving file from /tmp/geekf3rLf5 to /home/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/images/1156435768.jpg. Upload fine. Move=problem. error? #
   2. Error generating image
I have checked the 'safe-mode on' in GARS settings, as I have in vB, I have created the /tmp folder correctly (all other scripts utilise it correctly), and have set permissions correctly to relevant folders... but still I get the above error.....

Anyone please??

jeez, forgot to obliterate my full path

Gothic - I dont get anything putting that URL in with another url. For example:
http://open.thumbshots.org/image.pxf...henailgeek.com
or
http://open.thumbshots.org/image.pxf...henailgeek.com
or
http://open.thumbshots.org/image.pxf...henailgeek.com

The module comes with a configured snap URL as well?

hmmm... safe mode... er... Ill need to come up with a workaround for that and this module

Ah!! just had another thought. Is there a way that I could use images from the 'types' folder but have them linked(able) to the URL in question?
no pressure
